WII Recruitment 2017: WII (Wildlife Institute of India) is planning to engage the positions of Conservation Biologist, Aquatic Wildlife Monitoring Specialist, Aquatic Botanist, Wildlife Biologist (Fish), Spatial Analyst, etc. The selected candidates will be assigned to different projects. There is one vacancy for each post. The details of this recruitment drive are discussed in this article for the benefit of the interested candidates.

Educational Qualifications

The post of Conservation Biologist needs a master’s degree in any one of the following: Life Science, Zoology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Science, Veterinary Science, Botany, or Forestry. The minimum aggregate marks are sixty percent. Candidates must also have work experience of at least one year in the relevant area. All those who have experience in wetland ecology, conservation, wildlife research or aquatic macro fauna monitoring will be preferred.

All those interested in the position of Aquatic wildlife monitoring specialist must possess a Ph.D. in the above-mentioned fields with a minimum of one year experience in the field of zoology. Candidates who have working experience in conservation, monitoring or research in wildlife and have an excellent knowledge base of the aquatic macro fauna’s biology will be given preference.

The ones interested in the Aquatic Botanist position must have a Master’s degree in Life Science, Forestry, Botany or Wildlife science with at least one year experience in the relevant area. The working experience in monitoring of aquatic habitat, or wildlife research and conservation is the desired qualification.

The position of Wildlife Biologist (Fish) needs a master’s degree in life science, fishery science, zoology, environmental science or wildlife science with one year experience in relevant area. The desired qualification in this post experiences in biology and taxonomy of fishes, assessment of river habitat, aquatic ecology or wetland ecology.

The Spatial Analyst position requires a master’s degree in Life Science, Geo-Information, and Environmental Science. All those who have completed their M.Tech in GIS & Remote Sensing or Environmental Engineering can also apply for this post. IT is mandatory to have experience in work and projects related to remote sensing and GIS after completion of the master’s degree.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for the positions of Conservation Biologist, Aquatic Botanist, Wildlife Biologist (Fish), and Spatial Analyst is 35 years, However, it is 45 years for the Aquatic Wildlife monitoring Specialist position.

Application Fee

The application Fee is five hundred rupees for the OBC and general category candidates. All those belonging to the physically challenged, ST and SC categories need to pay only one hundred rupees.

How to Apply

Candidates are allowed to apply to this recruitment drive only through the online mode. They will first need to register themselves on the online portal of WII. Once they obtain their user id and password, they can log on to fill up the online application form. In the forms, the candidates must provide the position and project they are applying for. The maximum number of positions for which a candidate can apply is only two, and he or she will need to pay the application fee for each position separately.
